Emily Rancer specializes in marketing within the natural food and beverage industry. She currently works for The Republic of Tea, based in Novato, as their Minister of Creative Collaboration. In that role, she is responsible for leading market research, new product development, social media strategy, forecasting, and sales analysis. With a journalism background, the brand also turns to her for its copy writing and editing needs. Emily earned an MBA from the UC Davis Graduate School of Management in 2011 with a focus on marketing and strategy within the food industry.
Darnell Stewart has been gardening professionally since 2005. He operated a small gardening business in Palo Alto, Ca. and also worked as a Landscape job coach, where he worked with adults with developmental disabilities. He has worked as a contractor for PG&E, inspecting vegetation along their high voltage power lines and spent time as the gardener for the Berkeley City Club historic hotel Berkeley, Ca. Darnell has spent time taking Horticultural, Plant disease and Edible Landscape classes at Merritt College Horticultural Department, Oakland, Ca. He currently works full time for a well known irrigation store, Urban Farmer Store in Richmond, Ca. He began Playndirt Crop Swap & Garden in 2013.
